Welcome to Martin's Adventures (“we,” “us,” “our,” or the “Service”), operated by Black Swann Publishing. By using this website, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Martin's Adventures is a companion website for the Martin's Adventures book series. The Service includes free content about the books and the world of Morristown, a Quest Tracker where readers can access book-specific activities (unlocked by a password printed in the physical book), an optional Adventure Guild membership for tracking quest submissions and receiving updates, and an ARC (Advance Review Copy) reader signup program.

We do not sell books directly on this site. Links to purchase books direct you to third-party retailers (such as Amazon and IngramSpark), whose own terms and policies apply to that purchase.

2. Who Can Use This Site

Anyone can browse and read the free content on this site. Creating an Adventure Guild account requires that you be an adult (parent or guardian) acting on behalf of yourself and, optionally, a young reader in your care. Accounts are not intended to be created directly by children.

3. Book Access Passwords

Each book edition has its own access password, printed in the physical book, which unlocks that edition's Quest Tracker content. Passwords are not tied to individual purchasers and are not recoverable if lost — if you lose your book, you lose access to that book's Quest Tracker content unless you obtain another copy. Advent-style books (like our 24 Days series) unlock content progressively by calendar date each December, regardless of when the book was purchased.

4. Quest Submissions and the Quest Gallery

When you submit a completed quest photo, you're confirming that you (as the parent/guardian) have the right to share that photo and that it's appropriate for a general audience. You may optionally choose to allow a specific submission to appear in our public Quest Gallery — this is off by default and only applies to the submissions you explicitly opt in.

We reserve the right to decline to display, or to remove, any submitted content at our discretion.

5. User Responsibilities

You agree to: provide accurate information when creating an account, use the site for its intended purpose, submit only appropriate content, and keep your account credentials confidential.

6. Intellectual Property

Martin D. Swann, the Martin's Adventures book series, the badge and quest system, and all related characters, artwork, and content are the property of Black Swann Publishing and are protected by copyright and trademark law. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from this content without permission.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. Martin's Adventures and Black Swann Publishing are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service will be resolved in the courts located in Arizona.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted means you accept the revised Terms.
